Fr.Johny Rest in Peace

Rev. Father Johny Arackalparambil, CMI (65 years), died on 29-01-2007 (Monday) at around 11.00 a.m. He was under treatment at Sevagram, Pothy. He had been sick in the past seventeen years. The main ailment was Parkinson's illness.
The funeral  took place on, Tuesday 30 January at 02.30 p.m. in the Provincial House Chapel of Rajagiri-Kalamassery.
Please do pray for him.

 

CRI’s AT HILL TOP

A 2-days' meeting of the CRI (Priests' section) was held in our Generalate at Chavara Hills, Kochi, on 23rd and 24th January.

44 Provincials of various Congregations from all over India participated. Fr. Antony Kariyil, our Prir General, is the President of the Priests' section of the CRI.
 

Young CMI’s rejuvenated

A 3-days meeting of the College-going CMI Brothers of 5 of our Provinces in South India was held at the Generalate, Chavara Hills, from 26th to 28th January. 74 Brothers participated.

 

New Prior General House at Hill Top in Virgin Land

On, Wednesday, 10th January 2007, the CMI Generalate at Chavara Hills, Kochi, was specially privileged to have the presence of 34 Syro-Malabar Bishops. They were here in accordance with the special invitation of CMI Curiae. Bishops arrived at Generalate by 7.15 p.m. There were prayer service and agape. Fr. General spoke a few words of welcome. Representing the Bishops, Mar Joseph Powathil, Archbishop of Changanassery, spoke a few words of appreciation of the services of the CMI Congregation to the Church. He very specially mentioned the great services rendered by our late Fr. Placid for enriching the Syro-Malabar Church. After the supper, the Bishops went around the buildings. They appreciated the new Chapel, the other buildings and the campus. They returned to the nearby Mount St. Thomas by 9.00 p.m. All these 34 Bishops had been to Mount St. Thomas for the Syro-Malabar Bishops' Synod.
