Hospitals, Thrissur |

Amala Cancer Hospital, Thrissur, is a major
attempt on the part of the C. M. I. Congregation to enter the field of
medical services to the needy, especially the ill-fated cancer patients.
Even though Kerala Cancer Society was founded in 1972, the Society could not
achieve much in its objectives of founding a cancer institute, with all
facilities for the diagnosis, treatment and research on cancer. It was in
this context that the office bearers of this Society approached the
Devamatha Province to take up this challenging task. The Province, after
much deliberation decided to accept this challenge and take up the
Trusteeship of the Cancer Institute. At present following hospitals are
there in the Amala Campus along with Medical College and Nursing school
